  1. The ibex has big horns. They can grow to be up to 150 cm long. They eat grasses and leaves.
  2. Did you know that the ostrich is the biggest and heaviest bird? In addition, it has an ominously long neck. Ostriches have good eyesight (vision: 25) and can run up to 70 km per hour.
  3. The fennec fox is kind of a bright brown color. Its extra large ears help heat go out of its body.
  4. The thorny devil is a lizard that has spikes that cover most of its body. The thorny devil is found in the deserts of Australia.
  5. Meerkats are small, but they are bigger than a mouse. Meerkats can live more than 20 years. They have white fur on their face and belly.
  6. The gila monster is a kind of lizard. It is a heavy slow moving reptile. They can grow up to 56 cm long. It is the only venomous lizard native to the USA.

  5. The sand cat is an animal with big ears, a long tail, and whiskers. The sand cat is also endangered.
  6. The jack rabbit has powerful legs and can run fast to escape predators like owls and coyotes.

  4. The octopus’s head is a round ball shape with eight legs underneath. It can lay eggs and spray ink that it makes in its body.
  5. The angel fish is a brightly colored tropical critter that people keep as pets. It consumes both plants and animals.
  6. The angler fish looks scary. It lives deep in the ocean where it is very dark. It has a glowing light on the top of its head.

  3. The clownfish looks just like Nemo. It has big eyes. They live together in groups to help keep each other safe.
  4. There are many types of squid. One type of squid has bright purple skin and enormous eyes. This squid has different sized right and left eyes.
  5. The horseshoe crab is cute. It has ten legs. It can be eaten as food. It also has nine antennas on its head.
  6. The seal has four powerful flippers. A group of seals can eat a shark. They are known as “dogs of the sea.”

  6. The lobster is a crustacean. They can live forty-five to fifty years in the wild. A lobster never stops growing.

  3. The sea turtle can live seventy to one hundred years and is sadly an endangered species. They existed before the dinosaurs.
  4. The jellyfish can regrow parts of its body that are damaged. Its body is made of 94% – 98% water.
  5. The seahorse’s head looks like a horse. They don’t have a stomach and eat through suction.
  6. The shark finds fish by smelling their blood. It is endangered because of people hunting them for their fins.

  6. Anacondas are the largest snakes in the world. They can grow up to 9 meters long and can weigh 227 kilograms!
