(No.33) New Student Council Leaders

New Student Council President

Name: Na, GunHee(Gunehee), Grade 6 Orchid

Hello students of Kyonggi Elementary School. I’m Na Gun-hee, the student president of the school. Since becoming president I have had many thoughts. For example, I have wondered how to make your school life more enjoyable and what kind of events to organize.

However, I have a different perspective. As the president, I believe it is important not only to diligently fulfill major promises and commitments but also pay close attention to small promises made between friends.

I think a key role of the president is to identify what you like and what inconveniences you face, making our school a more enjoyable place. This does not mean that I will neglect our major promises. I aim to keep those as well, but my main goal is to make the school a better and more comfortable place from your point of view.

Therefore, while I am already working hard, I will focus even more on my studies and pay closer attention to our teachers’ guidance. I encourage you all to do the same. Focus on your studies and listen to your teachers. Let’s all work hard together for a better Kyonggi Elementary School!

New Vice Student Council President

Name: Lee, SeoHyung(Diego), Grade 6 Rose

I’m Seo-Hyung, and I’ve been elected as the vice student president for the first semester of 2024. First of all, I want to express my gratitude to the friends who believed in me and voted for me. I also want to thank everyone who has helped me. I entered Kyonggi Elementary School dancing into first grade, and now I am starting sixth grade as vice president.

When I started sixth grade, I naturally wanted to become class president. I wondered what kind of mindset our president should have to support others. As a result, I have prepared several promises to share with our Kyonggi friends. During our election, I had conversations with various friends, and the friends who cheered for me will remain as sunshine to me.

In America, among Native Americans, the word “friend” means “a person who carries my worries and concerns on his back.” I am very grateful for my many friends at Kyonggi Elementary School.

Now, we have started 2024 in a new grade, in a new class, and with a new teacher. As a sixth-grader and member of the school council, I will also have various concerns for the development and joy of the school. I hope that everyone will be happier with big smiles. Thank you!
