To begin with, Easter was a religious holiday. But, nowadays it has become a day for kids to find eggs. They get to do treasure hunts and eat lots of chocolate.

Secondly, there are two ways of celebrating Easter. One way is by finding a golden egg. If you find it, you earn chocolates. Another way is to find as many eggs as you can. You also get chocolates as well.

Lastly, I will tell you an interesting fact about Easter. Did you know that 200 million chocolate eggs are sold each year. This holiday sells so much candy. However, Halloween sells 600 million pounds of candy. Nonetheless, Easter is still the second biggest candy holiday.

All About Christmas

Woo YeongJae (Ryan)

First, I think that everyone will know about this wonderful holiday. I will give you a little hint. Imagine waking up and seeing a snowy white land outside your window. You get up and rush to the tree and see presents from a man in a red suit waiting for you. Now, I’m sure you know what this holiday is… it’s Christmas!

Christmas is celebrated on December 25th. Santa brings presents on December 24th aka Christmas Eve. There are also many great Christmas carols such as Feliz Navidad, Jingle Bells and many more.

Now I will tell you a short summary of how St. Nicholas became Santa Claus. St. Nicholas loved children and felt bad when he saw them living in poverty, So, he started to deliver gifts to poor children in secret. Eventually, he would become Santa Claus.

Now that you know more about Christmas you can enjoy this great holiday even more!

Happiest Day: Christmas!

Kim Yeonseo (Yeonseo)

Christmas is the happiest holiday with Santa Claus. The world celebrates this holiday. It is on December 25th.

Firstly, in Korea, we enjoy Christmas parties with family. For example, we play with our cousins, grandparents, brothers, and so on. We enjoy extremely happy, fun activities on Christmas. We can enjoy these with everyone! Secondly, we get gifts from family and Santa Claus. Many children get gifts that they want! When we wake up and look under the Christmas tree, there are gifts in huge socks to open! It is so exciting! Lastly, we enjoy delicious food with family or friends! For example, we eat Christmas cake or winter fruits. We can eat many things, so I love it!

Korean Independence Day

Kim SeoYeon (Arabella)

My Favorite holiday is Korean Independence Day because it is the day that Korea was liberated from Japan.

Korean Independence Day is celebrated on August 15th. Korea was liberated in 1945, but the holiday didn’t begin until 1948. Before Korea regained its independence, we couldn’t use the Taegukgi and needed to learn Japanese at school. We couldn’t live peacefully during the Japanese occupation of Korea. Martyrs such as Yu Gwan-Soon and many others waved the Taegukgi in the Sky, but were caught and died in Jail.

So my conclusion is that Korean independence day is important, but has many sad stories.
