The theme of the following project is “Natural Disaster”, which goes with the topic of the story” The Galveston Hurricane of 1900”. Engaging with this project, students learned what natural disasters are, why they are caused and what kind of impact they have on people. They all picked one natural disaster and did research, independently, in English. Then, they used the information they searched to make a poster, sharing what they had learned by presenting their own work. This project delivers messages warning of the danger of natural disasters and encourages the students to prepare for safety. From earthquakes and hurricanes to wildfires and tsunamis, natural disasters can impact culture while destroying lives, altering landscapes, and reshaping communities.
