In the bustling environment of an elementary school, the essence of teamwork becomes abundantly clear. Students, teachers, and parents all play integral roles in shaping each and every student’s education. What benefits do we derive from learning how to become better team players? For those who have been on a good team the answer is simple. A good team with strong support from all its workers can make work fly by, while bad teamwork can make people unhappy. So how can we become better team players?

In school the matter of teamwork is a crucial piece of the puzzle. Through group projects, sports, music class, and others we can learn how to work together. By being responsible and working hard we can make the best possible outcome. We have seen this demonstrated at Kyonggi Elementary School. Each grade has demonstrated good teamwork through the various different Dream World projects. From making posters together, doing science experiments, creating songs, and writing about historic causes, we see the results of every grade’s teamwork.

Another venue for showcasing this is in team sports. When playing a sport, communication is a key factor as well as knowing when and where to contribute. By communicating you can help lead your team to victory. This can be seen in every level of sports. From Kyonggi students playing soccer to the pros playing soccer worldwide.

Through this we can see how people around the world work together as a team. Globally there are many cultures as well as ideas to be implemented. By learning about teamwork from a young age, we can then apply these to real world scenarios. From business meetings, to developing the latest in AI technology, to coming together in a crisis. One shining example is the country of South Korea. It has many partnerships and works well in trying to create a more environmentally friendly world, as well as help develop cutting edge technology for a sustainable future.

Overall it is important to develop our base skills for being a good team player. From the moments in school where we learn how to work together, we find ourselves needing to know and respect the ability to contribute to a common goal. At Kyonggi Elementary School we set a precedent for teamwork and help our students successfully learn not only the importance of teamwork, but also how to grow and flourish in a team.
